My grandmother ( Retired now ) was apart of that, funny to watch it over again
How about not GETTING TO THE CARDIAC EXERCISE STUDY FIRST, not 2 Minutes into an “Nuclear Medicine STRESS Test.” Nutrition? Really? Our time is valuable & for some of us SHORT. We don’t need Nutrition lectures, just Nuclear imaging explanations.
Glad you are much better.

Dr. Severin brings up PT's doing respiratory muscle assessment and training in a post-Covid world. I want to better understand why that matters. Covid causes ventilatory issues not respiratory issues. The respiratory changes we see (shortness of breath, cough, etc) are as a result of decreased ventilatory efficiency and a byproduct of the underlying pathophysiology. This includes: damage to alveolar cells, fluid build up in and around the lungs, decreased surfactant production, decreased partial pressure of O2 in the blood (which will cause hypoxemia) and respiratory acidosis due to CO2 accumulation in the blood (hypercapnia), bronchoconstriction, systemic inflammatory response syndrome resulting in increased procoagulants decreased anticoagulatants potentially leading to disseminated intravascular coagulation as these molecules are consumed, fever linked to interleukin production as a response, and so on. I wonder if he is hoping for respiratory super-compensation using the still unaffected alveoli to prevent hypoxia in the short term and maybe long term if the pt.'s lung tissue doesn't heal well moving forward. Would increased strength of respiratory muscles increase expiration efficiency and offload more CO2 and combat the hypercapnia? I'd love to hear more about combating the pathophysiology and the mechanisms behind the recovery from the damage due to the virus.
Would you prefer a natural treadmill test or medically induced one? I'll be walking.
Some great knowledge, thank you!
The radiation you get from x-ray, CT, and nuclear imaging is ionizing radiation - high-energy wavelengths or particles that penetrate tissue to reveal the body's internal organs and structures. Ionizing radiation can damage DNA, and although your cells repair most of the damage, they sometimes do the job imperfectly, leaving small areas of "misrepair." The result is DNA mutations that may contribute to cancer years down the road. Source: www.health.harvard.edu/cancer/radiation-risk-from-medical-imaging
What's the tracer, dose, and machinery? What's the radiation dose? How do you limit radiation dose? Take iodine after this, and before or organic kelp to protect yourself folks! Go to Google Scholar and educate yourself and make sure you don't allow them to give you a higher dose of radiation from a poor tracer.
Let's trade subscribe
Thank you UAB PT for leading the way!!!! Go Blazers!!!!

@@tammystephens1961 I'm glad yours went well. I'm having mine done this Friday. I'm high anxiety/panic about the part where they inject the chemical to raise your heart rate. Did you have that done or did you just use the treadmill? If you used the chemical- How long/hard did your heart race? Did it make it hard to breathe? I don't want to feel my heart race too fast! Scares me!
